1 March 2011 – Ms. Terry Sio, President of MIBA, represented the retail industry and spoke at the Industrial and Commercial Forum hosted by the Macao Chamber of Commerce. The main focus of the speech was to strengthen co-operation between local industries and associations, as well as the integration of government consulting agencies of tourism, retail, and consumption. In order to achieve this unity, the government was suggested to set up a team of specialists to enforce these activities. Representatives of the government and the industry were recommended to organize regular meetings to address concerns and educate the public about social hospitable attitudes to promote a harmonized society. Issues such as business development, corporate management, human resource management, and the rising of small businesses were also touched upon, as they are fundamental in cultivating growth within the retail industry.
